Primus Windpower
Primus WindPower produces a line of uniquely designed, robust wind turbines for use in stand-alone electric systems. These are great if combined with solar power because the wind can produce more energy when solar power cannot, such as at night or in the darkest winter months. Use these wind generators to charge 12, 24, or 48 volt battery systems - or directly hooked up to a compatible water pump for livestock irrigation. As Primus Windpower makes some of the only UL and CSA listed wind-turbines on the market, these can be used in Grid-tied or off grid electric systems. Not only will they charge batteries but also power electrical loads in the house – all from the free power of harvesting the wind. The Primus WindPower product line is a “BREEZE” to install with a built in controller which detects battery voltage to ensure proper maintenance and care for the battery system. They will not overcharge a battery bank with this very smart design, and the installation is easy. No need for an extra charge controller. Simply hook up directly to the battery bank or DC breaker box per the installation instructions and the system will be up and running. The marine grade wind turbines are perfectly suited for boats or for installations near the corrosive ocean air. They are made with corrosion resistant and conformally coated components to withstand the harshest environments with very little maintenance. The poly-carbon blades are uniquely engineered to withstand environmental abuse, and for quiet operation. Since their inception in 1995, Primus WindPower has been producing wind turbines for boats, cabins, and small off-grid electrical systems with over 150,000 units installed globally. The 5 year warranty has been earned. Because of these wind turbines size, they are easy to install and maintain throughout their life – and many components can be replaced if need be.
